HUB GOING DOWN

DUE TO SECURITY CONCERNS (MAINLY MY ASS BEING KICKED BY THE TCC) THE HUB WILL GO DOWN ON 04.06.07 IF ONE OF THE FOLLOWING WILL NOT HAPPEN:

1)SOMEONE WITH NETWORKING KNOWLEDGE FINDS A WAY TO TUNNEL THROUGH THE FIREWALL IN THE FARMS.

2)SOMEONE ELSE TAKES THE RISK AND RUNS THE HUB.

I'M TRYING TO FIND SOLUTIONS AS WELL AND WORKING HARD ON IT. BUT I CAN'T AFFORD THIS RISK FOR VERY LONG, NOT WHEN SO MANY PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT THIS HUB.

THIS IS YOUR BURDEN AS WELL! FIND PEOPLE WITH NETOWRKING EXPERIENCE AND HAVE THEM CONTACT ME AT:

technion.hub@gmail.com

IF THE TUNNELING WILL NOT WORK THE SERVER --WILL-- GO DOWN.

hi.
I don't want to make you unhappy.
Tunnelling is a tricky thing.
If you run it there are 2 options:
1. if the tunnel is encrypted, e.g. over ssh, it will be slow, because SSH is not a very efficient way of transfering data.

2. if you don't encrypt, TCC guys will know you're running tunnels, because they use equipment able to see application layer, and block if wrong application is using this connection.

in any case if you run this hub, TCC guys can monitor the network traffic, and if they see a FAT bandwidth running to 1 machine for any purpose, they will notice.

They are not stupid, you know.

The only way to run this hub safely is by communicating with them, and achieving some arrangement.

OTOH, they must obey copyright policy, and hubs usually don't give a sh1te about it.

anyway, good luck.
